Did you know that dSpots can be used by Laptops and PDAs?

  Is it really Free?

Yes, it is completely Free of Charge for you to use. The service is paid for by advertisers placing ads with us which are targeted based upon the website viewing history, date and time and the physical location.

What sort of ads are displayed

Well, first of all, every ad is vetted to be 'child friendly' so there should be no concerns about seeing unsavory ads on your screen. They are also designed to be of interest to you and your location - so for example, a local Restaurant might be offering a 2 for 1 meal which will located close to where you access the dSpot. Cool eh?

  Do I need to register

Yes, you will need to register with us and download the small program that controls the ad display. Once you have done this however you never need to do it again unless you have a second laptop or PDA (the registration is specific to the laptop or PDA that you use). The program is virus checked and poses no security risk, however it does communicate with our servers and any attempt to circumvent it will result in the laptop or PDA being permanently blocked from accessing our dSpots even if you re-register.

  Are there any restrictions
Yes, there are a few. We don't encourage access to illegal websites or for the use of the service for illegal or immoral services and these are monitored. Anyone found breaking ours Terms and Conditions will be banned from the service permanently. At busy locations and at busy times, we may restrict the session times to allow others to connect. You will receive a warning advising that the session will be terminating and how long before you can try to re-connect. We are aware of this as soon as it happens and we will make every attempt to increase the availability of dSpots in that area if this happens on a regular basis.

  What equipment can I use
We are currently compatible with laptops using 802.1x Wi-Fi and the Windows operating system. Also we are compatible with PDA (Personal Organisers) again with 802.1x WiFi and Windows Mobile 2003 and later. We currently do not support Macs or Palm devices but we are currently working on the code to allow them to work too.

Where can I find a dSpot
Check out the 'Where is it' link and you will be able to find where the nearest dSpot is to you. You can also browse by popular locations - remember that the actual dSpot may not be actually inside the location but may be outside. Generally each dSpot covers a radius of 100 meters so you might need to move around to get the best signal.

  Where are your Policy Statements?
